With the rapid development of computer technology, in the field of printing, computer digital information has gradually replaced the previous manual pre press department, and has also been imported into printing and post press processing. Printing production scheduling can be said to be a very complicated work. The process needs to understand the details of the relevant operations of each print, have different plans with the differences of the prints, and make effective production plans within the delivery period specified by the customer. This paper will use Microsoft project98 software to plan printing production scheduling, and use appropriate forms and reports to control printing planning and printing scheduling, so as to effectively do a good job in printing production and operation management. II. Printing production scheduling and progress control 1. The purpose of printing production scheduling control (1) to understand the progress of printing and predict the completion date. A medium-sized or large printing company is likely to produce dozens or even hundreds of printing at the same time at any time, and the production progress of each printing will change at any time. In order to operate effectively and maintain a certain quality, the printing equipment needs regular maintenance. If the fixed maintenance time is not arranged in advance when scheduling, the maintenance work is either ignored or the printing is delayed. (4) The failure to establish the standard capacity of equipment and departments can be said to be the prerequisite for establishing and improving the printing production scheduling control system. It can be shown that some printed copies have been delayed, and the management personnel shall be provided for emergency disposal. 2、 The critical path method (CPM) used in the printing scheduling control system is a project management method commonly used in the industry, but the printing industry generally does not use the CPM because there are many production variables. On the contrary, the tool most used by the printing industry for scheduling and schedule control is still the so-called Gantt chart. Gantt chart is named in memory of Henry l Gantt, one of the fathers of scientific management. Gantt chart can have many different forms. The most common is that the time (date, hour) is listed in the horizontal axis, while the vertical axis is the machine equipment or cost center. For each print, the start and completion time of each machine equipment or process (cost center) are drawn according to the required process. This is the so-called schedule board. Strictly speaking, this form of control system can only be described as a job tracking system, which cannot be called scheduling system.
